How to build a Complete Skate Package:

figure and roller skate packages

Our new store offers thousands of combinations of boots, trucks, bearings, and wheels or blades. We didn't want to limit your options by only offering specific packages. Instead, we have designed the store to allow you to choose from a number of combinations based on our recommendations. Here's how:

Access the store by selecting Figure Skating , Roller Skating, or CRAZY Derby by clicking the appropriate section at the top of any page. Browse our boots until you find the best fit for your needs.

At the bottom of the product description page you will see a list of Available Options that match the boot you selected. Click on the blank dropdown boxes to add additional items to your skate package.

figure and roller skate package options

You can add as many extras as you would like to complete your personalized skate package. Some of the boots we offer are good for more than one type of skating, so be sure to select from the options that match your intention for the boot.

Once you have selected the options you want, click the "Add to Cart" button. You will see the subtotal reflect the total price of your skate package. If you're finished shopping, click the "Checkout" button. You will see your skate package options listed again on the Checkout Confirmation page.

Note! We do not keep every listed component in stock. We will contact you if we need to order a part before we can ship your purchase.

Patrick Chan

Patrick has long Skated on EDEA Skates.  He uses the Concerto!

Notice the great depth of knee in his Skating which helps to create the power and great flow in his Skating.
EDEA Skates work a little differently than do traditional leather Skating boots.
EDEA Skates first fit and hold the base of the foot incredibly well which provides the extreme control needed.
When EDEA Skates are laced properly the the heel is locked into their famous heel pocket which mates the Skate, one with the foot.
EDEA Skates provide the lateral support on both sides of the ankle to protect it with the Carbon Fibre type material shell or structure of the boot.  All of the Knee bend is achieved by bending the specially designed tongue, thus leaving open spaces in the front when pointing and in the back when flexing.  The top two hooks are adjusted to the amount of resistance (or knee support) desired when landing jumps.
The design of EDEA Skates is to NOT bend the top part of the boot forward. All knee bend is done on the tongue. Traditional leather boots with notches at the instep are designed to try to bend the entire top of the Skate forward to allow knee bend. This is why it is difficult to "break In" most traditional Skating Boots.  When most traditional leather boots do start to bend forward from the top, they also tend to allow the area of the boot where the ankle is, to pucker out.  This is not a good thing!  This leaves your ankle hanging in free air in the middle of the boot, with no support, just when you need it.  EDEA Skates are not meant to be laced super tight (like to strangle your leg) at the top of the Skate.  Remember, we want to be able to bend on the tongue, instead of trying to bend the entire top of the Skate forward.  This is also why the break in periods of EDEA Skates are so short, all you are doing is allowing the memory foam to form to your foot and teach the tongue to bend.  We have seen "break in" periods for EDEA Skates of between one and eight hours.
EDEA Skates have an outer covering of Leather and from the inside use MicroFibre materials to wick the persperation away from the foot.  The padding is memory foam, like on your matress and automatically forms to your foot every time you put your foot in them.  No more oven to Heat Mold your Skates.
One other incredible feature of EDEA Skates is that the boot is a super well designed stock boot, but because of the Carbon Fibre type material under the leather the Skates can be custom "Shaped" by spot heating them and reforming the Carbon Fibre type material.  The standard width is a "C" ball of the foot, with a "B" heel, but we can "SHAPE" the Skate down to a "AAAA" or out to a "EEE" by "Custom Shaping".  We can take a great fitting stock boot and make it an even better fitting Custom Boot.
The goal is super COMFORT while providing wonderful support and control.  For more details on the EDEA Skates, please read the technology white paper "Why EDEA Skates are so Special" from the Learning Center.

New from EDEA Skates

EDEA Skates has introduced to the American market through SkatesUS.com a new concept in Roller Skating footwear.

The PLANAR concept
The Heel and Sole are aligned Horizontally in a single plane, providing the following benefits:

Optimal Control of the Skate
The Heel and the Sole lay completely on a flat plate and the Natural Alignment of the Metatarsus Phalangeai joint which allows the plantar-flex or muscles of the foot to be in their reference position.  THIS ALLOWS THE MUSCLES TO REACT QUICKER, resulting in better balance and control.

Internal Foot Comfort
The TOES ARE STRETCHED NATURALLY inside the Skating Boot, resulting in the correct alignment of the Metatarsus-Phalangeal joints.  This allows the Distribution of the load over a wider surface area of the Ball of the Foot, reducing the posibility of injuries or fractures to the metatarsus and providing GREATER COMFORT.

Easy Frame Assembley
The EDEA Skates provides a FLAT Support Surface which makes the Mounting Operation easier.  When Mounting with a Planar Skate boot, DO NOT Use Power Wedges.  The Planar assembly does not deform the Skate Boot and change the fit or shape of the Skating Boot.  When Mounting a standard EDEA Skate, Use a Power Wedge.

Currently, only some of the models of EDEA Roller Boots are being produced this way as this technology is being phased into the production process.  Non-PLANAR Skating Boots still require the use of Power Wedges.
