Hi! My name is Sasha, and I have been skating for as long as I can remember! Some of my favorite tricks include split jump, spiral variations, double axel and butterfly–most of which I cannot do off ice., which makes me sad However, I’ve been learning how to roller skate whilst the rinks are closed, and even though it was a bit odd at first, it’s been a pretty fun time so far!

Catherine Nivera
I’m a beginner roller skater with a dream to learn artistic skating once rinks open up again. Since I’m a beginner, I’m hoping to combine my talents in art with my love of skating. Roller skating has helped me conquer fear everyday and has been incredible for my mental being. I love to skate and I hope that shines through my “artistic” dancing!

I was supposed to get married on May 9th of this year but couldn’t because of covid-19, but I did the next best thing I put on my roller skates! Since the rinks were closed, it opened a new door to outside skating on concrete which I have never done before! It was a really cool experience!

Kaelee McCauley
I just started to skate back at the beginning of February. Since quarantine shut down in march here, I have’t really been able to do much besides stretching. I really wanted to enter this because I’d love to be able to skate competitively by next year. With covid putting me out of work, I can’t afford good durable skates and everything else that comes with the beauty of figure skating. Since I’m not too good at skating just yet, I thought I’d put a bunch of clips of me learning together while I sing a cover of Copycat by Billie Eilish. I’ve always loved singing and skating.

Nichole Huenergardt
I’ve been figure skating for 24 years and let me just say I’ve now fallen on concrete more than I’ve ever fallen on the ice. I felt like moving for the soul today and improvised to “What the world needs now is love” because what the world does need now more than ever IS LOVE.

Sarah Godfrey
Skating has always been a huge part of my life. I was on a synchronized skating team for most of my childhood, and I also participated in Collegiate skating. Now, I choose to skate for fun. Although, I do not do competitions or tests anymore, my love for skating will never go away. The rink has always been my happy place and there is nothing better than cranking up my favorite
music and spending a few hours there! It has been hard to be off the ice for so long, but I know I will appreciate it that much more when my local rink re-opens. In the meantime, I have been rollerblading. 🙂
